World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure what will be improved following a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive, and it is possible that the item will be obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example an Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The  item upgrade  system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrade an item it is replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This can be a downside since the item may be more expensive even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times.  item upgrades  upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied before any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
