Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be improved by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment results in an increase in linearity of the stats of a particular.
Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through various methods that include using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged to increase their stats.
Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while other components offer an overall bonus.
There are several types of upgrade elements in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment, and offer less than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right side of the screen. It will display the expected statistics after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as blocked if you don't have enough of or.
The number of upgrade components needed for a specific item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The price of an upgrade increases depending on the rarity and level of the item increases. However, you can reduce the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a merchant or trading them with other players.
Many weapons can be improved with a prefix, like a rune or an insignia. Some can be upgraded with the suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the item's name like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They move to catch the viewer's attention and spur interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also improve the recall of messages by creating a familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a certain amount. This is displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the exact amount at which the glyph will increase a stat, but the maximum amount it can do so. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and quality of the item you are in awe of.
Most upgrade components inserted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you wish to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to save it using an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be retrieved using the glyph shards.

When you remove an item after adding a glyph the shards of the glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly instead of all at one time. This is helpful for those who take lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a new random affix, which is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits to upgrade units. A reroll will roll the % chance of a weapon trait; if it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolling is a fantastic option to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This effect is most evident on Rings and Diadems since they have no other options for raising ilvl.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow people to pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to change their race in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the upgrade value for the stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which increases damage or healing for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
It is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In most cases a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are instances when a more or unique roll may occur. Additionally the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type, so if you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an exceptional item type, it could get a higher iLevel.
Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the iLevel it's built upon and the number of upgrade levels. Certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item could get to the top of its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will provide a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased a value of +3.
The iLevel also changes in accordance with the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance an item upgraded from being a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
