World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what will be improved following an update.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a high chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.
You will often find in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values can enhance a stat by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example, a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't need it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, with an initial level and a different set of bonus bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste many resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every when you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to go back to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance attack damage, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or reloading speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance they might require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of upgrade ingredients.
